Obituary of Charlotte-A. Harrington

Homemaker EVANS, Ga. - Mrs. Charlotte Ann Harrington, 75, entered into rest at her home on April 24, 2007. Mrs. Harrington was born in Oelwein, Iowa on July 19, 1932, and has lived in the Augusta area the past 34 years. She was preceded in death by her son, Rev. Father Steve M. Harrington and married the past 53 years to LTC Regis A. Harrington, USA Ret. Survivors in addition to her husband include four surviving children: Regis Harrington III, Melbourne, FL, Patricia L. Davis, Evans, Dennis M. Harrington, Martinez and Robert D. Harrington, Savannah, GA; three brothers: Earl Walrath, Orange City, FL, Pat Walrath, Dunwoody, GA and Gary Walrath, Oelwein, IA; two sisters: Mary Kay Van Buren, Arvada, CO and Colleen Lynes of Apple Valley, CA The funeral Mass will be held Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Teresa of Avila, Evans, GA with Rev. Michael Roverse celebrant. A private burial will follow. A grandson, Thomas A. Harrington wrote this in memory of his grandmother: "The one person who has influenced my life the most is my Grandmother. She is what I believe every human being should be; loving. She has taken care of children through her five children, her eleven grandchildren, and her two great grandchildren for fifty-two years and never once has she asked for anything in return. Every year she invites the family to her house for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner that she makes. Every Christmas Eve she gives out numerous gifts that must cost her at least a thousand dollars. I do not know what this family will do after she is gone. She watches after everyone and would do anything anyone asked her to do if she had the ability to do so. Every opportunity I get to thank her I take and every time I get a chance to do something for her I do it. She is my hero and I try to live my life like she does. I love her with all my heart and, like she would do for me, I would do anything for her." Please make donations to the American Cancer Society, 2623 Washington Rd., Suite F-104, Augusta, GA 30904. The Vigil for the Deceased will be tonight, Friday evening at 7:00 P.M. and the family will receive friends until 9:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet and Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484. www.thomaspoteet.com
