<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Carolyn Frances Mulvehill Smith, age 77, of Morris, Alabama, passed away in her home on Thursday, May 1, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward France and Mary Alice Hall Mulvehill of Morris. Mrs. Smith was retired from the Jefferson County Board of Education, Gardendale High School. Prior to working for the board of education, she was a long-term employee of Woman's Missionary Union (WMU). She was also a member of Enon Baptist Church in Morris. She is survived by three loving daughters and their families: Cynthia R. and Bill Vines of Morris, Alabama; Rita R. and Roland Barnwell, and their son Blake, of Warrior, Alabama; Gina R. and David Payne, and their son Andrew, of Norman, Oklahoma; one brother Hollie D. Mulvehill and his wife Shirley; her loving niece and nephew, Sharon M. Glover (Scott) and Mark Mulvehill, all of Hanceville, Alabama. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at The New Gardendale Funeral Home, Gardendale, Alabama. Visitation will begin one hour before the funeral. Dr. John Hambright will be officiating. Burial will be at Liberty-Minter Cemetery, Morris, Alabama. Mrs. Smith died surrounded by her family. She was a lady of grace and a woman of wisdom who exemplified strength, kindness, gratefulness, and humility in her daily life. Mrs. Smith was an inspiration to her children, family, and friends and was a role model of courage to all who knew her. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be greatly missed by them all. The Children's Ministry of Enon Baptist Church was dear to her heart, especially third and fourth grade Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Children's Ministry, Enon Baptist Church, 724 Morris-Majestic Road, Morris, AL 35116 or to Alabama Baptist Children's Homes, P. O. Box 361767, Birmingham, AL 35236-1767. The family would like to thank Advantage Hospice caregivers Erin Horsley and Susie Spears for their excellent care.
