Obituary of Carolyn-Cochrell Harper


CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Mrs. Carolyn Cochrell Harper, 61, of Charlotte, NC, died February 13, 2003 at Carolinas Medical Center- Mercy. Mrs. Harper was born January 15, 1942 in Aiken County, South Carolina, a daughter of the late James Cochrell and Allie Frances Feagin Cochrell. She was a member of the first graduating class of Garringer High School, Charlotte, in 1960. Most of her life, Carolyn, was an accountant and bookkeeper and owned and operated Harpers Tax Service for more than 15 years. She will be most remembered by her kind spirit of Hospitality and her talent for baking and cooking. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother and you always knew you were welcomed at her home. She was mother of three but was a mother to many more. A service to celebrate the life of Carolyn C. Harper will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, February 15, 2003 at McEwen Derita Chapel with The Reverend Tony C. Harper, officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Park. The family will greet friends Friday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., at McEwen Derita Chapel, Mallard Creek Road. Carolyn is survived by her husband, of 31 years, Fred T. Harper of Charlotte; three children, Stephanie Miracle and husband, Bill, Suzanne Campo and husband, Martin and Mandy Harper all of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Austin Campo, Haley Campo and Samuel Miracle; brother, Lamar Cochrell and wife, Joanne of Ft. Mill, S.C. and sister, Sheryl Willliams and husband, Carroll of Charlotte; nieces and nephews, Kimberly, Matthew and Christopher Williams, Aaron Sloan, Sherry Hunter and Lisa Neely. She is also survived by two sons, she received through her marriage to Fred, The Reverend Tony C. Harper and wife, Karen, Philip Harper and wife, Sarah; her grandchildren, Dump Harper, Holly Stokes, Gina Williams and Dale Harper and six great-grandchildren. Carolyn had many friends and extended family and two who were very special, Charles and Louise Cole of Charlotte.
