Obituary of Caroline-H. Clark


BENNINGTON -- Mrs. Caroline H. Clark, 76, widow of Francis M. Clark a resident of Willow Road, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center following a long illness.She was born in Bennington, Dec. 18, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Julia (Aldrich) Hewitt. She received her education in Bennington and was a graduate of Bennington High School.She married Francis M. Clark in Bennington Nov. 5, 1949. Mr. Clark died July 20, 1994.In earlier years, Mrs. Clark was employed at Ben Mont Paper Company and later worked at Union Carbide Corporation in Bennington for many years.She was a member of the American Legion Post 1332 Auxiliary and she enjoyed camping and fishing.Survivors include a sister, Helen Charland of Grand Terrace, Calif. and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Hewitt, and an uncle, Arthur Hewitt.The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Friday, April 29, 2005 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Deborah Estey, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Bennington, officiating.Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.The burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.Donations in memory of Caroline H. Clark may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the office of the Mahar & Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
