Carol Henry McFadden, 77, died Dec. 20, 2010, at his home. He was born in Manning, S.C., and lived in Stuart since 1965, coming from his birthplace. Before retirement, he was a truck driver. He was a member of Lake Street Church of Christ in Stuart. He attended the schools of Clarendon County, S.C. Survivors include his wife, Conyers "Connie" McFadden of Stuart; sons, Roosevelt Pearson of Stuart, and Henry David McFadden and Levon McFadden, both of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Fibbie A. Hampton of Stuart, Mary L. Little, Carolyn Floyd and Ruth E. Little, all of Port St. Lucie; adopted children, Johnny Thomas and Carolyn Thomas, both of Port St. Lucie; and sister, Zelma McFadden of Lake City. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Wardell McFadden, Thomas McFadden, Arthur McFadden, Lawrence McFadden and Abraham McFadden; and sisters, Bessie McIntosh, Janie Rose and Pearline Johnson. Services: Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 29 at Lake Street Church of Christ in Stuart. A homegoing celebration will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 30 at the church with the Rev. Elijah Bush Sr. of the Avondale Church of Christ in Birmingham, Ala., officiating. Burial will follow at Fernhill Memorial Gardens in Stuart. Arrangements are by Thorne's Mortuary in Stuart.
