CLAY, Brenda BRENDA ANN SMITH CLAY June 2, 1946 - February 23, 2013 Beloved Educator, Ms. Brenda Ann Smith Clay, passed away on February 23, 2013. Brenda taught at Birney Elementary School ad was a Reading Specialist at Northside (North Atlanta) High School. She also served as Reading Coordinator in the Title I Department for the Atlanta Public School District. She retired after 35 years of dedicated service. She subsequently worked at the Georgia State Department of Education and Atlanta Metropolitan College. She was an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Brenda is survived by her mother, Mrs. Annie Grace Brazier Smith Booker; two sisters, Ms. Camille Smith Zeigler and Mrs. Gayla Smith-Mitchell (Ervin); three brothers, Dr. Wilson Smith (Cheryl), Dr. Daniel K. Smith (Carolyn) and Mr. Gregory Smith (Marsha); one uncle, James "Dick" Brazier. Celebration of Life Services will be held at Zion Hill Baptist Church, 6175 Campbellton Road, Atlanta, GA 30331 AT 1:00PM., Saturday, March 2, 2013, Rev. Aaron L. Parker, Ph.D., Officiating. In-State at 11:00am until 1:00pm. Omega Omega Service of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Friday, March 1, 2013 at 6:30pm, New Zion Baptist Church, 815 Lynhurst Drive, Atlanta, GA 30331. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Brenda Ann Smith Clay Scholarship Fund. (404)758-1731
