Homemaker LAKELAND -- Mrs. Billie Johns Smith of Lakeland died of kidney failure Thursday (Sept. 15, 2005) at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 84. Born in Wauchula on July 24, 1921, she came to Lakeland from Avon Park one year ago. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Avon Park Lakes Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Smith. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Bailey, Lakeland, Sherry Parrish, Raton, N.M.; brothers, Edward Johns, and George S. Johns, both of Jacksonville; two grandchildren; one great-grandson. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Fountain Funeral Home, Avon Park. Services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
