WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Betty Wade Daniel Cooley, age 86, entered into rest Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Burke Medical Center. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. at her beloved church, First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro. The family will receive friends after the Memorial Services in the church social hall. Interment will be private. Betty was born February 6, 1923 in Ocala, Florida to the late Lewis Monroe Wade and Sallie Mae Radford Wade. She married Robert T. "Mutt" Daniel, Jr. on July 12, 1939, and together they raised Barbara and Ted and lived together on the farm in Waynesboro until his death in 1976. She nursed with Dr. Cleve Thompson and then Dr. Walter Voyles until her retirement. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro and the Lillian Powell Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Town and Country Woman's Club. Later in her life, she married Lamar "Doc" Cooley in January 1996. She enjoyed gardening and sharing her love of flowers with others. She will always be remembered by those whose lives she touched as a loving and gracious friend, and by her family as the joy of their lives, their "Mimi". Her life represented always taking care of others, whether it be the patients she hardly knew or friends and family that she loved dearly. Left to cherish her memories are her son, Robert T. "Ted" Daniel, III (Linda), her daughter, Barbara D. Collier (David), and a special nephew, Robert L. Stevenson (Elaine); her four grandchildren, Lisa Collier Herrington (Steve), Kristy Collier Smith (Michael), Robert T. "Rob" Daniel, IV (Jennifer), and Brian K. Daniel (Stephanie); her eight great-grandchildren, Dalton Smith, Mikaela Daniel, Tamra Daniel, Collier Smith, Ashley Herrington, Michael Daniel, Cole Daniel, and Chase Daniel; and her sister-in-law, Betty Wade. She also left behind many other dear family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Monroe Wade, and her sisters, Helen Stevenson and Marion Wade.
