<!-- FH = Dixie Funeral Home 731-658-3941 --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Benonie Louise HarrisBenonie Louise Harris, age 80, a retired school teacher, assistant principal, wife and mother, was called home on October 3, 2014. Benonie received numerous awards for her dedication and commitment to the Hardeman County School system, community, and church, but was best known as a disciplinarian with her "Board of Education." She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Harris and her parents, Tommie and Sallie Harris. She is survived by her three children, Nocomus Harris and Felesha Waller, both of Memphis, and Sharonda Harris of Knoxville; a brother, Willie Berry; three grandchildren, Terence Waller, Antonio Johnson and Taheim Harris; three "special" sisters, Ressie Walls of Moscow, Mildred Reed of Chicago, IL and Willie Mae Hussie of Grand Junction; and a host of nieces, a nephew, grand-nieces and nephews, cousins, family and friends. She was a member of Jones Chapel M.B. Church in Grand Junction, where her Celebration of Life Service will be held on October 11, 2014 at 11 a.m. Her wake will be at Dixie Funeral Home 731-658-3941 on October 10, 2014 from 5-7 p.m.Dixie Funeral Home, (731) 658-3941.
