-> Beatrice R. Carter, 93, died Saturday, February 14, 2004 in Azalealand Nursing Home under the care of Hospice Savannah, Inc. The Newton County, GA, native was a long time resident of Macon and lived in Madison for 25 years before moving to Savannah in May 2000. She was a member of Campus View Church of Christ in Athens, GA and was retired from the Singer Company where she was a seamstress and sewing instructor. Her husband, William James Carter, preceded her in death. She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Sue H. Carter, Savannah and Stephen D. and Shari B. Carter, Stone Mountain; step-son, William F. Carter and his wife, Sybil B. Carter, Milledgeville; step-daughter, Edith C. Black, Athens, AL; sister, Hilda R. McCullough, Conyers; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren. Graveside Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2004 in Macon Memorial Park with Reverend Manny Lago officiating.
