STAPLETON, Ga. - Barbara Ann Rivers Williams, 67, wife of the late Charles Emmett Williams, Jr., left her residence and went home to serve her Lord Saturday morning, May 28, 2011. Funeral services will be on Monday, May 30, 2011 at 1100AM at Reedy Creek Baptist Church with Rev. John A. Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Born to the late Corene Hadden Rivers and the late James Rivers, she was a lifelong resident of Glascock County. She was an active member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church where she served the Lord faithfully. Barbara loved being outdoors. She enjoyed gardening and working the land at her home. Her career included many years in local farm supply and produce retail. She dearly loved her family and her greatest joy was being with her children and grandchildren. Barbara was a strong, yet gentle woman who will be greatly missed. Barbara's survivors include her two children, Judy Williams Tankersley (Purvis King) and Charles Lamar Williams (Tonya); two brothers, Jimmy Rivers (Martha Ann) and Elbert Rivers (Nancy); seven grandchildren, Jordan, James and Jenna Tankersley and Emily, Jackson, Hannah and Claire Williams; nieces, nephews, and many friends. Pallbearers will be Keith Hadden, Mike Peebles, Terry Redfern, Jim Rivers, Mark Rivers and David Tankersley. Memorial contributions may be made to Reedy Creek Building Fund, 1128 Reedy Creek Church Rd, Stapleton GA 30823. The family will receive friends at James Funeral Home this evening, Sunday, May 29, 2011 from 6:00-8:00PM.
