Barbara Jo Morrison, 75, South Daytona, passed away suddenly in her home May 20, 2008. Graveside service will be held 4 p.m. with viewing from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Lohman Daytona Memorial Park. Mrs. Morrison, a quiet and loving mother, was born and raised in Daytona Beach area and remained a lifelong resident. She was a Mainland Senior High School graduate whose greatest pleasure was spending time with her family, reading mystery novels, and with her very special sidekick and companion Whisper (aka Pup). She applied many of her special talents as a waitress at several area restaurants over the many long years. She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory: two daughters, Myrtice Poore, Daytona Beach, Oveda Whedbee, South Daytona; two sons, Walter H. Morrison, Jacksonville, John L. Morrison II, Ormond Beach; two sisters, Lois Venable and Henrietta Grier; three grandchildren, Michelle Poore, Nicki Lashley, Walter L. Morrison; and four great-grandchildren, Derrick Pinckney, Chase Marie Benson, Anthony Michael Morrison, Nicholas Morrison; and several family members: Kay Morrison, Roger Whedbee, Tom Kisielewski and Tyrone Pinckney.
