Barbara Brown, a long-time resident of Cortlandt Manor, passed away May 7, 2004. She was 70 years old. Barbara was born in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Theodore and Mildred Rosen. She was raised in the Kew Gardens section of Queens, New York. She was married to Warren E. Brown, on June 23, 1956 in NYC. A graduate of the Teaching Program at the State University of New York at Oswego, Barbara dedicated the majority of her life to teaching children. She worked for many years as a preschool teacher of the Center Nursery School in Yorktown Heights, New York. She also was a substitute teacher in the Hendrick Hudson, and Lakeland School Districts. Barbara was active in the following organizations: Sisterhood of the former Lakeland Jewish Center, a member of Jewish Women's International, Norchester Chapter of Hadassah, Town of Cortlandt Senior Citizen Clubs. Survived by her husband Warren; her brother Arnold Rosen (Helen); her sons, Barry L. Sr. (Diane), Steven G., (Mary); and her grandchildren, Barry L. Jr., Samuel, Victoria, and Amanda; and Phasamel. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 10, 2004 for Barbara Brown at First Hebrew Congregation, 1821 East Main Street (US Route 6), Peekskill, NY 10566 at 11AM with interment at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Myrtle Ave, Glendale (Queens), NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Mohegan Volunteer Ambulance Corps, P.O.
