SCOTIA Barbara Ann Brown, 74, died peacefully Friday, December 9, 2005 at the Avenue Nursing Home in Schenectady. Born in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Robert H. and Winifred L. (Herath) Yattaw. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to family. She will always be remembered for her selflessness, unceasing generosity and holiday spirit. She exemplified the true meaning of giving. Barbara will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Barbara Ann was the loving wife of 58 years to Alfred W. Brown. She is also survived by her children, Robert C. (Sherry) Brown of Scotia, William K. (Carol) Brown of Middlegrove, Audiene W. Smith of Como, Texas, Alicia J. (Wesley) Dimmick of Scotia; her sister, Joan E. Kohl of Mentor, Ohio; grandchildren, Carrie-Ann C. Brown, Robyn C. Clifton, Brianne L. Brown, Stacy L. McKeever, Shannon L. McDonald, Kyle Smith, Jennifer Smith, Bret Corey, Ryne Dimmick; eight great-grandchildren; one niece and several nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 427 Franklin St., Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany Monday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Colonie following services.
