Avesta Mae Hyames White, 88, Sarasota, died Dec. 13, 2002. She was born Sept. 13, 1914, in Kalamazoo, Mich., and came to Sarsota 29 years ago from there. She graduated from Western Michigan University. She was a teacher in the Arlington Heights, Ill., school system. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the P.E.O. Sisterhood and the Retired Officers Association Ladies Group. Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl M. of Sarasota. No visitation is planned. Services will be private. Burial will be later in Michigan. Toale Brothers Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
