MANCHESTER - Arthur E. Lemieux, 68, died of complications from cancer on July 6, 2013, in Mesa, Ariz. He was born in Bridgeport, Conn., on Dec. 24, 1944, the son of the late Arthur A. Lemieux and Mary Ann (Milewska) Lemieux. He attended Bullard Havens Technical School where he first learned the printing trade. During his career as a printer, he worked for the Bridgeport Sunday Herald and the Colorado Rocky Mountain News and was an active member of the International Typographical Union. As a longtime resident of Manchester, he spent much of his career at the Union Leader until he retired to Arizona in 2008 with his wife. His interest in the news never waned, and along with his sense of humor and his talent for storytelling, he was also known for his love of cars, computers and being a firearms enthusiast. He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 44 years, Helen (Narofsky) Lemieux; his son, A.J. Lemieux and his girlfriend Suzannah Nickell of Mesa, Ariz.; daughters Sirena Lemieux Crotty and her husband Justin Crotty of Manchester, Andrea Lemieux and her husband Eric Rettig of Littleton, Colo.; and his five sisters, Sandra Rhodes of Madison, Conn., Diane Buda of Stratford, Conn., Barbara Frankel of Fairfield, Conn., Pauline Mudrick of Orange, Conn., and Suzanne Ajder of Delray Beach, Fla. Along with his five sisters he also had many nephews and nieces. As of his death he had no grandchildren, but his love for his many four-legged grandpups kept him young at heart. . Services: After cremation, a memorial service will be held Saturday, July 20, at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Parish in Manchester, 575 Candia Road. A gathering at the Puritan Backroom-Pappas Room, will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Arizona Military Assistance Mission (azmam.org), an organization that Art supported.
