TUSCALOOSA Annie Louise Jordan, age 74, of Tuscaloosa, went to be with her Lord on April 26, 2013 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa. Funeral services for Louise (as she was known by all her family and friends) will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30th at Valhalla Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama with Rev. Frank Jones officiating. Valhalla Funeral Home and Memory Gardens is in charge of arrangements. A memorial service celebrating the life of Louise will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 2 pm with Dr. Tim Lovett officiating.Louise was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ada Mims; four brothers and three sisters. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Lowell Wayne Jordan; sons, Lyndel (Sheila) and Bryan (Holly); daughter, Darla (Michael Orton); and grandchildren, Rhys, Ryan, Lydia, Carly, Hudson, Rachel and Adam.Louise and Wayne were married only nine weeks after they met, and lived a varied but much enjoyable life as far as circumstances would allow. Louise started having medical problems early in their married life, and suffered a stroke in 1988 which affected her both physically and mentally for the rest of her life. This was followed by heart issues and multiple events which continued to affect her abilities, but, this did not affect her love for her family, friends, and life itself. Wayne and Louise just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in January with a three week cruise of the Caribbean.Throughout life with all her medical issues, Louise never dwelt on them or complained. She always had a smile on her face and made every one she met feel at ease as if she had known them all her life. Her faith was strong from the beginning to the very end, and she now has no afflictions and is in the hands of her Loving Savior. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials should be addressed to Calvary Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
