Amelia R. Todd, 75, Arcadia, died July 26, 2006. She was born March 16, 1931, in St. James City and lived in DeSoto County most of her life. She was a school bus driver for the Charlotte County School system, retiring after 26 years of service. She was of the Church of God faith. Survivors include her husband, James R. Sr.; a daughter, Marie Ostrander of Rotonda West and Virginia Freeman of Englewood; a son, James R. Jr. of Jupiter; brothers John Edward "Butch" Bass of Englewood and George Allen "Pete" Bass of Port Charlotte; sisters Gladys Anderson of Old Town and Mary Jean DeHayes of Port Charlotte; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Lemon Bay Funeral Home in Englewood. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Arcadia. Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home in Arcadia is in charge.
