Commerce - Allene Elizabeth Perry Ramsey, 88, of Commerce, formerly of Hull, died March 11, 2004. Mrs. Ramsey was born in Jackson County on October 10, 1915. Her parents were the late, Luke H. and Mellie McElreath Perry. Her husband was the late Joe E. Ramsey, Sr. Mrs. Ramsey retired from Superior Pants and was a member of Erastus Christian Church.Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Alton and Charlotte Ramsey, of Danielsville and son and daughter-in-law, Joe Ervin and Janice Ramsey of Commerce, four grandchildren: Stephen Green and Christopher Ramsey and Jordan and Erin Ramsey.Mrs. Ramsey was the oldest of 15 children. A sister, Annie Mills, and two brothers, Odell Perry and C.W. Perry, preceded her in death. She is survived by three sisters, Isbell Bridges, Martha Black and Grace Robertson, and eight brothers, Ambus Perry, Guy Perry, L.G. Perry, Earl Perry, James Perry, Robert Perry, Lamar Perry and Henry G. Perry.Funeral services will be at 2pm, Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Erastus Christian Church. Revs. Terry James, Carl Beckham, and Tim Garrett will be in charge of service with interment in Erastus Christian Church cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1:30pm until 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Erastus Christian Church, Commerce, GA.The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday night from 6:30-8:30 pm.
