LAVALLEE, Alfred Kay Kaw Way Kay Washakate May 1, 1932March 7, 2010 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Alfred on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at the age of 77 years. He is predeceased by his parents, Gabriel and Eugenie Lavallee; brother, Winston; sister, Bea; children, Darlene, Sherry and Gabriel. Alfred will be lovingly remembered by his brothers, Walter (Lena), Ray (Tillie), Alphonse, Eddie (Elaine); children, Hazel, Robert, Leona, Allen, Mavis, William, Holly, David, Lance and Sasha; mother of his children and friend, Joan Lavallee as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; AA friends and horse racing friends. A special thank you to Heartland Livestock and staff for the many years of service and friendship. Alfred served as Chief of Piapot First Nation from 1975 -1977 and also served on the SGI Board of Directors for 10 years. He raced Thoroughbred horses for over 40 years. To sum it up, Alfred was a true horseman. Wake will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Piapot Band Hall, Piapot First Nation. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Piapot Band Hall. In lieu of flowers donations in Alfred's memory may be made to the National HBPA INC.
