ALBERT LEO MICHEL Albert passed away, with his wife and son at his side, on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit, at the age of 85 years. He was born June 9, 1927 on W1/2 2-10-8-W2, SK to Ladislaus and Victoria (nee Agopsowicz) Michel. Albert is predeceased by: his parents; his siblings, Winnie Seiferling, Betty Andrews & Harold Michel; brothers-in-law, Robert Andrews, Stan McKee, Grant Widdifield & Clem Seiferling; nephews Graham Andrews & Leonard Seiferling and niece Joan (Rob) Scheirer. He is survived by: his loving and devoted wife, Gail (nee May); son Brian and his children, Calista & Nicholas; daughter Carol (Gerry Ikegwuonu) and their children, Sydney & Katharine; siblings, Robert (Jean), Victoria, Elsie, Anne (Howard Bolton); sister-in-law Lois, as well as 10 nieces, five nephews and many friends. As a teenager, in January of 1945, Albert joined the army to fight in WWII. However, due to his age, he had to join the Canadian Technical Training Corps where he was trained as a mechanic in Dundurn, SK and Vancouver, BC. He was discharged in July, 1945, but his CTTC training served him well after he left the service as he continued farming for the next 36 years in Creelman, Heward and Kipling, SK. Albert retired from farming in 1981, and he and Gail moved to Regina to pursue more leisurely activities. Albert divided his time between gardening and his favourite occupation, woodworking. Family and friends are invited to join together for an informal time of remembrance and visiting to celebrate Albert's life on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK. A Private Family Interment will take place at a later date at Heward Cemetery.
