Monday, December 7, 2009, God called suddenly another one of his soldiers home and Albert answered, "Ready or not here I am". Albert Lonnie "Scabo" Johnson, son of the late Rev. Lonnie and Gladys Johnson was born September 19, 1951 in Lake City, Florida. Albert was raised in a Christian and loving home, giving his life to Christ at a very early age. He received his education at Richardson High School, graduating with the class of 1969. Albert served his country through the United States Navy, receiving an honorable discharge May 6, 1971. He was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 322, serving as manager of entertainment. Albert was also a member of the Lake City Joy Riders II. Albert loved fishing, watching racing, spending time with his family and making everyone happy. He enjoyed most of all going to the Gator Football games. He was a "True Gator Fan"! Albert is preceded in death by his parents Reverend Lonnie and Gladys Johnson.He leaves to cherish fond memories: a beloved and devoted wife of 34 years, Ruby Dean Johnson; one son, Leonard (Pamela) Johnson; two daughters, Theresa Portee and Felisa Thomas, all of Lake City, FL.; one brother, Aaron (Janice) Johnson, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.; one brother-in-law, Eddie Roy (Barbara) Jernigan, Macon, GA.; five sisters-in-law. Louise Flowers, Jeannie Akiens, Florence (Billy) McArthur, Annie Milligan, Emma Lee Jernigan, all of Lake City, FL; two aunts, Letitisha Graham, Vashtie McMahon; his loving grandchildren, Lakasia (Terrance) Portee-Jones, LaKesia (Michael) Hendon, Eddie Roy, Kimberly Byrden, Ebony, Aaron and Mya Johnson; two special great grandchildren; Byron “Boot” English, Jr and MiKhiya Hendon, three special friends, Tommie "Spike" White, Ron Williams, Sam Oosterhoudt; and a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews cousins and friends.Funeral services for Albert will be Saturday December 12, 2009, 2:00 P.M. at Olivet Missionary Baptist Church. 901 NE Davis Street. Ronald V. Walters, Pastor.The family will receive friends Friday, December 11, 2009 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Salvation Holiness Church. 244 NE Milton Terrace.
