Yvonnia-Martin Johnson, born in 1947, spouse of Rev Johnson, daughter of O-Neal and Dorsey, died on December 18, 2010 at 63 years old.
Funeral services for Yvonnia Martin Johnson "Fathead", 63, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010, at Haven United Methodist Church, 114 West 17th Street, Anniston. The Rev. Michael Abrams is pastor. Dr. Frank J. Lee will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Anniston. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state at the church two hours prior to service. Mrs. Johnson died Monday, December 13, 2010, in Augusta, Ga. She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Kaneisha Martin; her parents, O'Neal and Dorsey Martin; brothers, Rufus Tucker, O'Neal Martin Jr. and Edgar Jones; a sister, Annie Pollard. She joined St. Paul A.M.E. Church; attended public school at Lanier High School in Lanett; and was a former employee of Playtex Corp., Russell Athletics and Motel 6. Survivors are her husband, Rev. Curtis Johnson, of Heflin; sons, Dexter Martin and Curtis Johnson, of Madison; daughter, Jorita Johnson, of Carrollton, Ga.; sisters, Ruby (Leroy) Summers, Alvree Welch, Carrie Wilson, Jelizabeth (Rev. Arthur) Jackson, all of Lanett; brothers, Benny (Johnnie) Tucker, of Selma and Ralph Cofield of Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren. Memorial service will be tonight from 5-7 p.m. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 1415 North 6th Ave., Lanett, AL 36863. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the services.
