Obituary of Yvonne Morin


MORIN (BOKENFOHR), Yvonne Nina (nee Chevalier)Yvonne Morin, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away suddenly on January 7, 2016. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Korey (Ian) McDonald, Kevin (Bonnie) Bokenfohr, Joy (Dean) Smith and Janet Forsyth; stepchildren: Paul (Cheryl), Dennis (Alicia) and Lise; her grandchildren: Ryan (Erin), Andrea, Ross (Alyssa), Brett, Lauren (Zach), Stephanie, Krista (Kieran), Graham (Chantal), Colin, Andrew, Natalie, Shawn, Tanya, Riley and Chelsea; great grandchildren: Brady, Madelyn and Zoey. Yvonne is also survived by her sisters: Adoralice Gibeau, Lorraine (David) Presley and Colleen (Russ) Walworth; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Edgar and Dora Chevalier; first husband, Bernard Bokenfohr, second husband, Wilfred Morin and son-in-law, Doug Forsyth.Yvonne was born in Kincaid, Saskatchewan and she spent most of her life in the Morinville and Edmonton area. She attended the Misericordia School of Nursing and graduated in 1954 as a registered nurse. Many of her classmates remain her dear friends to this day. Yvonne will be remembered for her strong Catholic faith and dedication to volunteering in her community. However, her most important role was ''Momo'' as grandmother to her 15 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street, Edmonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 18407-60 Avenue, Edmonton with interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14611-Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton. The family expresses heartfelt thanks to the doctors and staff from ICU-3C3 at the University of Alberta Hospital for their compassion and care. A sincere thank you to Dr. Christine Sharek for her kindness, support, and care over the years. Those who so wish may make donations in memory of Yvonne to Pancreatic Cancer Canada.
