Homegoing service for Yolanda Denise Morrison, 47, Providence Boulevard, Deltona, who died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Mount Zion A.M.E Church, 935 S. Adelle Ave., DeLand, of which the Rev. Granville Anderson is pastor, with the Rev. Roy Stone, pastor of Abundant Grace Family Fellowship Center of Sanford, officiating. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Orange City. Visiting hours are from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. today (Tuesday) at Unity Funeral Home DeLand. Yolanda was born July 31, 1958, in NewYork, N.Y., to Charles Morrison Sr. and Nina Snellings. She was reared and educated in the public school system of Bronx, N.Y., where, after graduation from James Monroe High School in the Bronx, she later completed studies at Mandel School of Medicine and Dental where she received her credentials and became a certified dental assistant. She worked as a dental assistant for several years until her health declined and she moved to F1orida. "Yo," as she was affectionately known by many, was a fun-loving, great cook who greatly supported the Home Shopping Network when she wasn't the compassionate and enthusiastic fan/coach during her son Ruben's basketball games. On Thursday morning, Jan. 12, at approximately 9:43 a.m., while hospitalized at Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City, Yolanda relinquished her hold on this life and entered into rest to join her father, Charles Morrison, Sr.; brother, Kenneth Morrison; and sister, Audrey Oats. Yolanda's life and legacy will be cherished forever by those who loved her most, including her mother, Nina Oats; son, Ruben Charles Pacheco, Deltona; brothers, Charles Edward (Ann) Morrison Jr., Lorington, N.Y., and Darryl Oats, Deltona; sister, JoAnn Morrison (Dino), Deltona; aunt, Louise Snellings; nephews, Christopher, Jordan and Ravon Oats, Charles Morrison III and Anthony Fulladosa; nieces, Erica, Lona and Mahki Oats, Christin Morrison and Neena Fulladosa; and a host of loving cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
