World War II veteran Carl Louis Love passed away Oct. 13, 2012. The funeral service is Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. at Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church, Southern Pines, N.C. Arrangements are by the Pugh & Smith Funeral Home, Carthage, N.C. Mr. Love was born Oct. 9, 1919, in Aberdeen, N.C., to the late Will and Elsa Love, and attended the Berkley School there. Mr. Love worked at the Ward Bakery in Newark, N.J., for over 35 years before retiring, and later, worked part time at Tools Library. Mr. Love leaves to cherish his memory, son, Carl Jr.; stepdaughter, Becky; sister, Mrs. Frances Barnes; nephews, Harry and David, great-niece, Pamela, and a host of other relatives and friends.
