She was raised in Pluma along with one sister, Dorothy Trussell, and four brothers, Billy, Johnny, Jimmy and Joe, who all preceded her in death. She had many fond memories of her siblings and especially her father with whom she enjoyed spending quality time. They moved from South Dakota to Spring Valley, CA, in 1960 and then to Ramona, CA, in 1970 where they raised four daughters. She was a devoted wife and mother her entire life. She loved to travel with her husband and rode with him on countless jobs. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and taking care of her family. She took great pride in making her yard into a park-like setting and loved plants and flowers of all kinds. She even tried her hand at growing tropical flowers after a Hawaiian vacation that she took with her husband in 2004. She had a great sense of humor and the gift of gab.
