Wilma Nadine Hambrick Smith, 87, a longtime resident of Daytona Beach, went to Heaven from her home, Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006. A service will be held at Central Baptist Church, 142 Fairview Avenue, Daytona Beach, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 11. She was born in Kenna, W.Va., on June 11, 1918, to Talmadge and Corda Hambrick. She had one brother, Herman Costo Hambrick. Nadine and her husband, Ray Lionel Smith, moved from Charleston, W.Va., to Florida in l948. She loved Jesus, and served Him her whole life. She performed five decades of service at Central Baptist Church primarily with pastors, Hal Marchman and Doug Harrell. Nadine did whatever was needed to be done including teaching Sunday School, Camp volunteer, church secretary, office manager, and founder and director of the Central Baptist Seniors. Her senior adult group included the singing group, The Jubilees, who witnessed at nursing homes and for many others. Her craft class met to make lap robes for patients in nursing homes, stuffed animals and other necessities for children in hospitals, and clothes for needy children, among other things. She led the seniors on many bus trips around the United States; their favorite trip was to Branson, Mo. Nadine cherished her family. She will always remain in the heart of her daughter, her Linda Evans; her son, David Smith and his wife Vicki; her grandson, James Evans and his wife Marsha; her grandson, Ray Smith and his wife Erin; her grandson, Michael Smith; her great-granddaughters, Kylie Evans and Madisen Smith; and her great-grandson, Cole Evans; her nephew, Herman Hambrick II and his wife June; and her cousin, Ruth Lilly.
