NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. Willie M. Carter, of Murrah Road, entered into rest May 14, 2010. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2010, at Old Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. Limuer Myers officiating. Mr. Carter, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, was a United States Army Veteran. He was a graduate of City University of New York. He retired from the New York City Police Department/Detective Division. He was Director of Safety/Security at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Founder/CEO of Dynasty Records. After moving to South Carolina, he was an Independent Associate/Prepaid Legal Services. He was a member of Old Macedonia Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Thurmond Carter; a daughter, Doris L. Reid; four grandchildren, Dorian S. Reid, Malcolm B. (Icelean) Rhymer, Asar P. Rhymer, and Rasheedah A. Rhymer; great granddaughter, Ivanni Rhymer; brothers in law, David (Pearcie) Mims, James (Nettie) Thurmond, John Lee Thurmond, Wali (Marvel) Bilal, Hubert (Earnestine) Thurmond, Vernon Thurmond, Ronald Mims, and Donald Thurmond; sisters in law, Bernice (Lannice) Fryer, Mattie Carr, Joann Curry, and Elaine Lyons; a host of other relatives and friends.
