William Wade Jordan, 51, died at home on Monday, July 9, 2007, after a two year battle with cancer. Wade was born in Washington, D.C., to the late Charles R. Jordan of Manassas, Va., and the late Roberta Fox Payne, Haymarket, Va. He was raised in the town of Haymarket and moved to Manassas shortly after beginning his career with the Fairfax County Police Department. Just over two years ago, he and his wife moved to Front Royal, Va. Wade retired from the Fairfax County Police Department as a Master Police Officer in 1997 and was most recently employed by Fairfax County Public Schools as a safety and security assistant at Mountain View Alternative High School in Centreville, Va. He loved being outdoors, enjoyed working on anything mechanical, including cars, trucks and antique tractors and he was an avid motorcyclist. He was adored by his family and kept everyone on their toes with his quick wit. He was and will always be our hero. Survivors include his wife, Terri L. Jordan, Front Royal, Va., formerly from Manassas; three daughters, Jenny R. Klinck and husband, Scott, Stafford, Va., Christina N. Cummings and husband, Bobby, Manassas, and Jennifer L. ColBert, Manassas; one son, William W. Jordan II, Front Royal; two granddaughters, Briana and Tasha Cummings, Manassas; his mother, Geneva Jordan, Manassas; one brother, Richard B. Jordan, Augusta, W.Va.; one sister, Sharon Sampsell, Colonial Beach, Va.; two nieces, Alice Elliott and husband, Tripp, Fredericksburg, Va., and Andrea McDaniel, Fairfax; and his father-in-law, Kenneth O. Beckwith, Manassas.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Pierce Funeral Home, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2007. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery, Haymarket, Va.
