May 18, 2009 William Thomas Whitmore, 75, of Lyncourt, passed away suddenly Monday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Dunkirk, he was a graduate of Central High School in Syracuse. Tom served in the Air National Guard 174th Fighter Wing. He was a graduate of the drafting apprentice program at GE. Tom worked first as a draftsman for GE and later as a product designer until his retirement. His work for GE brought Tom from Syracuse to Valley Forge, PA, and Chesapeake, VA. His hobbies were airplanes, cars, and golf. Survivors: daughter, Jennifer Colliver of Stafford, VA; Samuel T. Whitmore of Chesapeake, VA; brother, Benjamin (Jeanette) Whitmore of Wesley Chapel, FL; grandchildren, Leslie Colliver and Rex Colliver; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 6 p.m. Wednesday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 West Genesee Street, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Lyncourt Fire Department. Tindall Funeral Home Inc.
