<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->William "Bill" Strange passed away May 11, 2014. Bill was raised in Mountain Brook, was a proud graduate of The Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN and attended Auburn University. Bill's natural charm and love of people led him to career in sales. Bill sold his first car in 1948 and over the next sixty years he worked variously as a salesman, sales manager, leasing manager, dealer & consultant. He served as President of the Birmingham Automobile Dealers Association,The Birmingham Automotive Leasing Association and the Ensley Rotary Club. Bill was a man of faith and enjoyed reading and studying the Bible. He was introduced to his wife, Dot, while attending a Briarwood Bible Study led by Frank Barker. He and Dot attended Mountain Brook Community Church and were members of the Builders group. Bill was also an avid fisherman and loved to travel. Over the years he and Dot had many happy adventures together. Bill is survived by his wife of 22 years, Dorothy Hays Strange, and his three children Charlotte Reece, Phoenix, AZ; William K. Strange Jr., Fairhope, AL; Sarah Holloway, Geneva, AL. Bill also held a special place in the hearts of his grandchildren, in laws, step children and step grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Mountain Brook Community Church on Tuesday, May 20th, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Community Hospice, 2770 McKenzie Street, Foley, AL 36535.
