WILLIAM "HOWARD" STEPHENSON, 88 LAKELAND - William "Howard" Stephenson, age 88, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010 from heart failure. He was born on September 18, 1921 in Hazelhurst, GA. He served in the US Army during WWII. Howard was a resident of Lakeland for 67 years and was an electrician in the local IBEW Union #915 for 62 years. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Lakeland. He enjoyed boating, fishing and dancing. Survived by his wife of 67 years; Christine Stephenson; daughter, Bobbie Burd (Larry); granddaughters, Lisa Vogt (Ronnie), Carol Henderson (Joe), Gina Riley (Jonathan); great grandsons, Jared, Cory, Joshua, Collin, Caleb and Aaron all of Lakeland; brother, Ralph Stephenson of Tarpon Springs; and nephews: Ronnie Stephenson (Cheryl) of Lakeland, Imogene Cole of Winter Haven and Bobby Whitfield. Family will receive friends Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lakeland Funeral Home 2125 So. Bartow Road, Lakeland. Funeral service on Monday, February 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel, interment to follow at Lakeland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson, Auburndale FL 33823 or Lakeside Baptist Church, Lakeland. Online guest book available at www.lakelandfuneralhome.com .
