Mr. William Steven Carroll, age 60, of Covington, Ga., formerly of Florence, Ala., passed away May 2, 2012, in Covington. He was born Dec. 21, 1951, in Florence to the late George Houston and Virginia Sego Carroll.Mr. Carroll graduated from the University of North Alabama with a degree in accounting. He loved Alabama football, the New York Giants and NASCAR. He also had a passion for reading and working on computers.Mr. Carroll is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Thomas Norris, of Birmingham; his sons, Justin Carroll, of Bozeman, Mont., Steven Carroll and Matthew Carroll, both of Covington. He also is survived by his sister, Judy Bullington, of Florence; and brother and sister-in-law, David and Nancy Carroll, of Atlanta; his niece, Olivia Dooley; and nephews, Daniel Bullington and Chad Carroll; other family and close friends.Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Faith Tabernacle in Florence, with Brother Henry Melton officiating. The family is currently working to establish a fund to be used for educational expenses of Steven and Matthew.
