William Robert "Bill" Montgomery, 85, Indianapolis, formerly of Seymour passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Country Charm Village in Indianapolis, surrounded by his loved ones.William attended Walnut Grove Grade School, Banbridge Middle School and was a 1945 graduate of Shields High School. He was the foreman of heating and plumbing at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis. He retired in 1982 from this position.He had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He was a life member of the Eagles Aerie 655, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of the Moose Lodge.Born March 8, 1927, in Seymour, he was the son of Maurice and Elnora (Alwes) Montgomery. On Nov. 25, 1948, in Seymour, he married Kathleen Ogilvie, who preceded him in death in April 2003.He is survived by his children, Thomas (Jessica) Montgomery, Kayellen "Kay" (David) Crooke, John Montgomery, Geoffrey (Penny) Montgomery and Lisa Baumgart; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Howard Montgomery; son-in-law, Vince Baumgart; and grandchild, Kelly Robinson.Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Voss Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. Bill Weaver officiating.
