WILLIAM RICHARD PETERSON William Richard Peterson, 83, of Sebring, Fla., passed away Thursday, January 1, 2009, in Sebring. He was born August 30, 1925, to Martin and Helen (Murphy) Peterson in Buffalo, N.Y., and had been a resident of Sebring since 1999, coming from Alden, N.Y. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army and was of the Catholic faith. He was a wireman for Westinghouse Industrial Electrical in Cheektowaga, N.Y., a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Elks Club and Moose. He was an avid golfer and had worked at Quiet Times Golf Course in Attica, N.Y. and was a Little League coach for 10 years. Mr. Peterson is survived by his wife, R. Colleen Peterson, Sebring; sons, Neil Peterson, Depew, N.Y. and William "Rick" (and Mary Anne) Peterson Jr., Richmond, Va.; and sisters, Rita Peterson and Dorothy Griffin, both of Buffalo, N.Y.
