PETERS _ William (Bill) born October 9, 1921, passed away peacefully March 13, 2007 at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, B.C. Bill started his working career with the News Herald in Vancouver, BC. In 1943, he joined the Canadian Army (Royal Canadian Corp of Signals) and served throughout the European campaign as a DR or Dispatch Rider. After WW2, Bill remained with the Royal Canadian Corp of Signals and was stationed at both CFB Ladner and CFB Vimy. During his peace time tenure in the military he was posted to CFS Alert in the high Arctic 1955 and then in 1964 he spent one-year serving with the UN Peace Keeping Forces on the Gaza Strip. Bill was honorably discharged from the Royal Canadian Corp of Signals January 1967. He then started his second career working for the BCAA (British Columbia Automobile Association) in both their Vancouver and New Westminster offices. He retired from the BCAA in October 1986. Bill derived immense pleasure from his life-long love of photography and in his younger years, his passion for mountain climbing took him to many of the peaks in the Pacific Northwest. Bill will be remembered with everlasting love by his wife of 60 years -- Betty Peters. He is also survived by his son Paul and daughter Claudia. We will miss our Dad.
