William P. Quigley Sr.     SOUTH PORTLAND -- William P. Quigley Sr. of South Portland, died on Jan. 23, 2007, at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough.     He was born on July 15, 1927 in Medford, Mass., the son of Walter and Ruth Whelan Quigley. He attended Tabor Academy in Marion, Mass., and served in the Marine Corps during WW II and was recalled and served during the Korean Conflict. Upon discharge, he attended Northeastern University. He married Evelyn Minkle of Medford, Mass., in 1949.      Bill worked in Boston in the insurance industry for 40 years with Maryland Casualty, and Brewer and Lord. Upon his retirement he and Evelyn moved to Maine.      He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Evelyn L. Quigley of South Portland; his five sons, Mark Quigley of Modesto, Calif., Jon Quigley and his wife, Connie of South Portland, Robert Quigley and his wife, Louise of Melrose, Mass., Thomas Quigley and his wife Diane of Tewksbury, Mass., and William Quigley Jr. and his wife Tanya of Harmony; 13 grandchildren, Christy and her husband Chaska Bartow, Jill Quigley, Caroline and her husband Matthew Phillips, Kevin Quigley, Katherine Quigley, Jennifer Quigley, Caitlin Quigley, Meghan Quigley, Bethany Quigley, Rebecca Quigley, Kelly Quigley, Bill Quigley III, and Sydney Quigley; and one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Phillips.     There will be no visiting hours. A memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at St. Johns the Evangelist in South Portland. Interment to follow in the spring.
