Obituary of William-M. Lee


William M. "Bill" Lee, 94, of Springfield, N.J., formerly of Paterson, N.J., and Suffern, N.Y., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 22, 2013, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Louis Suburban Chapel, 13-01 Broadway (Route 4 West), Fair Lawn, N.J. Burial will follow at Mount Nebo Cemetery, Totowa, N.J. Bill was the beloved husband of the late Helen J. (nee Lefkowitz) Lee; devoted father of Judith L. Gulko and her husband, Edward, Jeffrey M. Lee, and Janet L. Williams and her husband, David; and cherished grandfather of Jay and Alexa Williams. Bill was a graduate of William Paterson State College, where he earned his bachelor's degree in education, and was also a graduate of Montclair State University, where he earned his master's degree in education. Bill was a teacher in Paterson and later was the vice principal at Quitman Elementary School in Newark, N.J. He was a member of the New Jersey Education Association and a longtime member of the Barnert Temple in Franklin Lakes, N.J., where he served as principal of the religious school during the 1960s. Memorial donations in memory of William M. Lee may be made to the Helen Lee Community Care Fund, c/o Barnert Temple, 747 Route 208 South, Franklin Lakes, N.J. 07417.
