WILLIAM M. GUNTER of BinghamtonWilliam M. Gunter, 61, of Binghamton, died unexpectedly Wednesday evening, October 31, 2001 at Wilson Memorial Regional Center as the result of an auto-pedestrian accident. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Higgins Gunter and William Gunter; his brother, John Gunter; and his aunts, Florence McHugh and Loretta Costello. He is survived by his former wife, Eleanor Gunter, Chenango Bridge; a daughter, Colleen Gunter and Deric Felton, Port Dickinson; a son, Patrick Gunter, Kirkwood; three grandchildren, Kerstin, Devin and Justin; a brother, Robert Gunter, Binghamton; special cousin, Kathleen Syron, Binghamton; step mother, Anne Gunter, Vestal; special friend, Paul Plain; several nieces and nephews. Bill retired from Binghamton Industrial Supply Company and was a veteran of the US Navy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. John the Evangelist Church, Vestal Avenue and Livingston Street, Binghamton, Monday at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main St., Binghamton, Sunday from 2 to 4:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Bill may be made to Lourdes Hospital Foundation, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
