William Lyons of Nanuet formerly of Tappan passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday Feb. 23, 2009 at the age of 90. He was born on December 3, 1918 in Co. Mayo, Ireland to Thomas and Anna Lyons. William was a carpenter for the Archdiocese of New York and was an avid bowler and bingo player. He is survived by his loving son and daughter-in-law William & Margaret Lyons and cherished grandsons, William and Brandon. William was predeceased by Wife, Catherine Casserly and his seven brothers and sisters. Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 pm at the "Family Owned" Joseph W. Sorce F.H. Inc. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday at 10:00 am in Our Lady Of The Sacred Heart Chapel, 120 Kings Highway, Tappan. Interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet.
