REGISTER/METTER - William Lee, 72, retired Navy SEAL, died March 16, 2012, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah after an extended illness.A native of Candler County, he lived many years in the Register community. He was a member of the Pulaski Baptist Church and S.A.R. He retired after 26 years as an E-9, having served with the Navy SEALs team four.Surviving are his wife, Elaine B. Lee of Register; son, Keith Lee of Savannah; stepsons, Bill (Holly) Floyd of Faulkville and Brian (Tonia) Floyd of Hagan; daughter, Brenda Lee of Pembroke; stepdaughter, Beth (Ken) Shelley of Dublin, Va.; sister, Janie (Harold) Wood of Fort Worth, Texas. Five grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.The graveside service, with full military honors, will be conducted Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Lower Lotts Creek with the Rev.
