MACLAREN, William James 1927 - 2009 Sadly passed away peacefully at home, on Good Friday, April 10, 2009, in Montreal, Quebec. Bill was born in Windsor, Ontario, to John Hugh Maclaren and Catherine Thurley (Wilkerson). He grew up in St. Anne de Bellevue, Quebec and graduated from Macdonald College, B.Sc. (Agr.) 1947 and Queens University, B.Sc (Mech.Eng.) 1951. Bill enjoyed a career as a Professional Mechanical Engineer. His memory will be forever cherished by his wife of fifty-two years, Barbara (Hyman) and his daughters Heather (Ajay), Catherine and Judith. He will be sadly missed by his brother, John (Jock) Maclaren (Margaret) and brother-in-law, Major David Hyman (Helgard) and his many nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces. He was a family man who will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and gentle kindness. A private family funeral was held. A celebration of his life will take place on Friday, April 17 at 2 p.m. at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Foret, Outremont, Quebec. If so desired, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or The Salvation Army.
