William J., Sr. Age 72 of 265 W. Henry St., Elmira, NY. He was born April 1, 1929 in Elmira to Arthur and Mary Elizabeth (Ryan) Howe, Sr. and passed away Sunday, January 27, 2002 at home. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers Edward and Thomas and sister Mary Johnson and is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Angeline (Cecce) Howe; sons and daughters-in-law William, Jr. and LouAnn of Pine City, Michael and Debra of Elmira, Joseph and Dawn of Pine Valley, Dominic and Deborah of Horseheads; daughters and sons-in-law Mary and James Patterson, Barbara and Eric Sturm all of NC, Debra and Steven VanZile, Sr., Jean Ann and Timothy Wolfe all of Elmira; 27 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother Arthur Howe, Jr. of Elmira along with several nieces and nephews. Mr. Howe was formerly employed at Trayer Products and Eastern Metal. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #1476, Horseheads and the Clarence R. Oliver American Legion Post 154, Elmira Heights. Family and friends are invited to call at the Barrett Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 29th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral and Committal Services will be held there on Wednesday, January 30th at 11 AM. Rev. Walter Wainwright will officiate.
