William-Glen Williams, born in 1925, spouse of Sarah-Nell Williams, son of John-William and Edith-Glenn-Mason, father of Howard Glen, Kenneth, Teressa, Glenda and Stan, died on July 21, 1925 at 83 years old.
William Glen Williams, age 83, was born July 21, 1925, at Nyseville, Ind., to John William Williams and Edith Glenn Mason Williams. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II, having participated in the Normandy Invasion at Omaha Beach on D-Day. He later served in the Pacific aboard the PC-548. On Aug. 17, 1946, he married the former Mildred Mae Gross of Kankakee, Ill., who preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 1985. He was preceded in death by a son, Howard Glen Williams. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Leslie Williams; and two sisters, Bettie Whilhite and Marianna Robertson. His wife Sarah Nell Williams survives him. Other survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Teressa Williams; a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Stan Mill; stepsons and wives, Harold and Karen Peek, and Samuel and Paige Peek; and stepdaughters and husbands, Catherine and Michael Stephenson, and Linda and Bob Whitney. Five grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and a former councilman of the town of Cinco Bayou, Fla. He was a member of Masonic Lodge N. 389 of Kankakee, and American Legion Post 408 of Chebanse, Ill. He lived in Kankakee for 40 years and retired from Armor Pharmaceutical Co. He was a charter member and past president of the International Chemical Workers Union Local 498. He held Amateur Radio License W9VQC and was a member of the Playground Amateur Radio Club of Fort Walton Beach, and a lifetime member of the American Radio Relay League. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at First Methodist Church, Fort Walton Beach. The family will receive friends following the service.
