Obituary of William-Gerald Colbourne


COLBOURNE, William Gerald - Passed away peacefully on November 1, 2009 at Scarborough General Hospital in his 77th year. Predeceased by his parents Nora and Alfred Colbourne. Beloved husband of Florence Colbourne (nee Wright). Father of Robert, Kimberley and Michael Colbourne. Sadly missed by his brothers and sisters, Germaine and Paul Stonemane, Anne and Dale Rassmuesm, Jack and Claudia Colbourne and sister-in-law Betty (predeceased by brother Donald). Lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren. Gerald was born on October 21, 1932 in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. He was employed with the Toronto Hydro for 37 years. The family wish to express their sincere gratitude to the Scarborough General Hospital 6th Floor nurses Katarina, Karen, Rorie and Adora for their compassion and care. Many thanks to Scarborough Support and Bayshore Home Health, especially to Verdette Jack, Paula Charles and Paul Hastings. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, 3216 Lawrence Ave. E. (east of McCowan Rd. on the north side of Lawrence Ave.). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
