William-Edward Orr, born in 1921, spouse of Marion Orr, died on January 21, 2007 at 23 years old. Please consult the obituary here:
ORR _William Edward 'Eddy' Born June 24, 1921 in Calgary Alberta, Passed away January 21, 2007 in Burnaby BC. Eddy, survived his wife Marion by 23 years and kept up their joyous work in the Salvation Army for all these years since. His work there is done, and he's heeded the call of his Lord to come home. Born in Calgary in 1921, Ed was the 4th of 6 loving brothers and sisters born to William Francis 'Frank' Orr of Georgetown Ontario and Minnie May Orr (nee Frank) of Bozeman Montana. Ed worked hard his whole life throughout BC and Alberta. He steamed up and down the Arrow Lakes as a waiter on the paddle wheeler Minto. He worked for years on the Princess boats, sailing between Seattle, Victoria and Vancouver. In 1991 he was honoured as a 25 year member of local 280 of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association. After an extended illness forced him into Burnaby General just before Christmas of last year, Ed passed away peacefully at St Michael's Hospice. Though he and Marion had no children of their own, his nieces and nephews, and all those he touched so gently and with such great humour through his work at the Salvation Army deeply mourn his passing. He is survived by his older sister Gladys Walton in Nakusp, B.C. and his youngest brother Ernie in Burton, B.C. All who knew him were blessed by his life. He will be sorely missed. Memorial Service will be held Saturday January 27, 2007 at 2 pm Metrotown Salvation Army Church 6125 Nelson Ave., Burnaby, B.C.
