NORTHVILLE, N.Y. William D. White III, 79, of Northville, N.Y. died Sunday morning, February 13, 2005 in Arlington, Texas. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late William D. and Eleanor Leonard White II and husband of the late Jean Anne Snyder White who died in 1989. Bill graduated from Troy High School in Troy and attended the Albany College of Pharmacy. He enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945. He participated in the allied invasion of Sicily on the USS L.S.T. #80. Bill lived in Poestenkill for a short time after his marriage later moving to Watervliet until 1989 then moved to Northville. He worked as a lab technician at Norton Co. and office products salesman for 3M Corp. He retired after a long career with the Federal Social Security Administration. He was very active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Mr. White was former president of the Watervliet P.T.A. He was an avid motorcyclist and was a passionate small boat sailor for many years on his beloved Sacandaga. Bill is survived by his children, Jean Maloney (Robert) of Cohoes, Judy White-Pardee (Leonard) of Arlington, Texas, William D. White IV (Barbara) of Kileen, Texas, Thomas White (Elizabeth) of Albany and Paul White (Martha) of Richardson, Texas. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Lou Goodrich of Selkirk, Nancy Frichette of East Greenbush and Carol O'Neill of Albany; his grandchildren, Robert (Kristin) Maloney and Christopher (Christy) Maloney, Jeffrey Pardee, Justin and Aaron White, Paul and Jennifer White; and two great-grandchildren, Connor and Kaitlin Maloney. The funeral for Bill will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. from the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment, Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam, N.Y.
