William Carl Ross ColonieWilliam Carl Ross, 95, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Stratton VA Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Watervliet, he was the son of the late Francis and Irene (Carl) Ross. Bill served his country during WWII and was honorably discharged from the Army. He was involved in horse training and horse stabling for over 30 years. Bill had a lifelong love of animals and leaves behind his beloved cat, Skeezix. Along with his parents, Bill was predeceased by his siblings, Hobart Ross and Muriel Ross Houlihan. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, William F. (Michele) Ross of Latham, Linda (Richard) Ross of Colonie, Carla and Henri Houlihan of Colonie, and Alexandra Miller of Latham; and longtime friends and fellow horse lovers, Jamie Pendelton and Fay Supley. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Happy Cat Rescue, P.O. Box 5424, Albany, NY 12205 in Bill's name.
