WILLIAM "BILL" C.LEE, 85Lee's Vacuum Supply House WINTER HAVEN - Mr. William "Bill" C. Lee, age 85, died of congestive heart failure Friday (Oct. 30, 2009). Born in Elba, AL., on May 27, 1924, he moved to Winter Haven from Orlando in 1976. He was the owner of Lee's Vacuum Supply House, and a member of First Church of the Nazarene. At age 17 he served in the 2nd Armored Division under General Patton. At 18, he served 3 years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Houston and participated in 14 major battles. He was awarded 5 Bronze Stars and the Presidential Citation of the Philippines Government. Mr. Lee is survived by his wife Betty J. Ward, Winter Haven; son Craig Lee, FL.; stepson Rodney Hannah, FL; daughters Patty Baker, Ohio, Margie Rogers, MO.; grandchildren Haley Clark, Cameron Clark, Adam Lee, Myra Rogers, Yvette Rogers. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009 with services to follow at 6 p.m. at Steele's Family Funeral Services Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be at 11:30a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, 2009 at FL. National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Veterans with Brain Injuries, Inc., 4960 Hwy 90, Box 173, Pace, FL, 32571.
